Designed for use in a Robot Firefighting competition, the Flame Detector unit provides an easy, reliable way to locate and extinguish the candle flame. The Detector, based on a Hamamatsu UV-Tron, is sensitive enough to see the candle on the other side of the 8'x8' standard arena. The propeller 'extinguisher' is powerful enough to blow out a candle from inside the white circle. Use with the FireFighting Environment.
Comes with instructions and a working demonstration program which students can study and/or modify. Ready to plug into a BotBrain Botbrain board. If students all design similar mountings, it can be shared among teams to reduce expense.
